CEBU, Philippines - Pepo Rubi saved his best for last as he sealed his bid in the 2011 MS Motosuit Motocross Series with a 1-2 finish at the Sudtungan racetrack in Brgy. Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.

Rubi dominated the pro open category in the ninth and final leg of the annual series dubbed as the1st Barangay Captain Isabelito Darnayla Cup. He edged out the young but promising John Flores for the top spot, while Rex Barbaso claimed the third place honors.

Rubi got an added bonus as he placed second in the experts division ruled by Paulo Inoc. Flores took home the third place trophy.

Little-known Mark Ganob was the lone rider to post a double victory in this Petron Philippines-presented event via the intermediate and novice open production. Ganob outsmarted Donkey Sanchez and Martin Nuñez in both divisions.

Sanchez though did not go home empty-handed as he lorded it over in his favorite open enduro class after outpacing Rey Quirol and Amay Amon.

The same goes to Quirol, who snatched the local enduro title after defeating Dong Batiquen and Jun Querol.

Quirol also wound up second behind Ayen Ledesma in the beginners production as Joguie Basco wound up third.

Basco, on the other hand, won the underbone race over Willie Borces, Jun Enriquez topped the executive A and Russel Gungob reigned supreme in executive B.

The rest of the top finishers were Noli Rom (executive C), BJ Pepito (mini 65 cc) and Denmark Supatan (mini 85 cc). (BANAT NEWS)
