Seniors X'mas golfest at AVGCC today

CEBU, Philippines - The 2011 Christmas Senior Golfers Fellowship Tournament tees off today at the par-72 Alta Vista Golf and Country Club located on the hills of Pardo, this city.

The tournament is open to members of the Federation of Philippine Senior Golfers Inc.-Cebu Chapter and guests. Those, who haven’t reached the qualifying age of 55 years old can still join the tournament and play under the guest division.

Players will be classified under the Young Seniors (55 to 62 years old), Mature Seniors (63-69), and Super Seniors (70 and above) classes.

There will only be one classification for the guest category.

Entry fee is pegged at P1,500 and tee off time starts at 6:30 a.m. and ends 11:30 a.m. The entry fee covers the green fee, insurance, dinner, raffles, and mulligan (one per nine).

There will also be special prizes for nearest the pin on hole number 6 and the most accurate drive on hole number 11.

The awards ceremony will be held at the AVGCC Golfer’s Bar after the last group completes their round.—NLQ (FREEMAN)
