USJ-R Alumni dumps Azco in Aboitiz Cup
CEBU, Philippines -The University of San Jose-Recoletos Alumni displayed great teamwork to blank Azco, 4-0, in the men’s open division of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue yesterday.
The former Jaguars showed fierceness on the field and never gave Azco a chance to score in the game.
With the victory, USJ-R Alumni now improved their position in bracket B at second spot along with Don Bosco United-A with an identical two wins and a draw.
Last week, USJ-R Alumni defeated Uptown United.
DBUFC-A, for its part, got its own back-to-back victories at the expense of San Roque Football Club Arsenal, 6-2.
SRFC Arsenal and Uptown are both at the bottom of the standings right now with 0-2 cards.
On the other hand, Don Bosco Magone finally got into the winner’s column of bracket A.
That after posting a 2-0 win against the still winless Sumaba squad also yesterday. – (FREEMAN)
