Golf-filled December
There are several major tournaments scheduled in the different golf clubs of Cebu this December.
First to hold its tournament will be Club Filipino Incorporada de Cebu, which will have its Christmas Fun Golf Tournament this Saturday.
Joselito 'Jiji' Gullas, golf chairman of CFIC, told me yesterday that this will be a two-man team event and players will only be allowed to use five clubs.
Jiji also said that each team must be composed of one club member and a guest. Entry fee is P2,000 per player.

On December 10 and 11, there are two tournaments scheduled. Alta Vista Golf and Country Club will have its Christmas Fun Golf Classic while Cebu Country Club will be having its President's Cup.
Officials of the two clubs tried to resolve the conflict in schedule to no avail. So, the two events will be played alongside each other.
I don't have so any other detail about the President's Cup aside from its scheduled dates.
As for the Christmas Fun Golf Classic at Alta Vista, the entry fee is P2,700 and specially-made belts with the buckle engraved with the club logo will be given to all participants. Aside from that, there are also shirts, caps, mugs, and towels, all bearing the club logo, to be given away.
The tournament at Alta Vista will only be an 18-hole event.
I also learned that Mactan Island Golf Club will be holding its yearend tournament. This event will be held in the succeeding weekends.
December is going to be a busy month for the golf community.

On December 1 to 3, a group of players from Alta Vista Golf and Country Club are also off to Davao for the Santa Lucia Golf Tournament.
This used to be called the Santa Lucia Golf Tour that took players from the various clubs built by Sta. Lucia Realty and Development Inc. to the three major island groups.
This year, there is only one stop and that is at the Rancho Palos Verdes in Buhangin, Davao City.
