Yeo leads winners in Alta Vista Monthly Medal

-

CEBU, Philippines - Alex Yeo led the winners of the November Monthly Medal of Alta Vista Golf and Country Club played last Saturday, but it was Rolando Alberto, who was most celebrated during the awards ceremony.

Yeo fired nines of 36 and 39 for a net three-over-par 75, the best for class A.

Alberto aced the 144-yard hole number 8 to win a windfall of prizes.

The lowest net honors for the premiere handicap class went to Toby Florendo with 68 while runner-up honors went to Marlo Cugtas with a net 73. Cugtas edged Loloy Sabuga in the countback.

Alberto used a Callaway 5-wood and an Ultra No. 1 ball for the feat. His ball landed on the green then bounced twice and appeared to head out of the green, but instead hit the flagstick and fell into the cup.

The ace was witnessed by Boy Gonzalez, Ben Yu, Loloy Sabuga, and Jun Mendoza. It was the second for Alberto, who also aced the par-3 hole number 13 of the course several years ago.

Ari Clinton Lee topped class B with a gross score of 87.
