2nd Frankie Radaza Run slated Dec. 3

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU, Philippines - In an effort to continue the legacy of his late father, Lapu-Lapu City Councilor Harry Radaza spearheads the staging of the 2nd Frankie Radaza Run on December 3.

Radaza said in yesterday’s press conference at Max's Restaurant in SM City-Cebu that the late lawyer Frankie Radaza, younger brother of Lapu-Lapu Rep. Arturo Radaza, was a philantrophist. Frankie Radaza died of plane crash 11 years ago.

“December 3 is the birthday of my dad. We are doing this in his memory. He was a philanthropist. He always had the heart for giving,” councilor Radaza said.

The second FRR is actually billed as “4 Bridges 4 Streetchildren Run” since the race route includes the two prominent bridges in the Queen City of the South both for the 8K and 12K categories.

This is only the second time that the provincial government of Cebu has approved the use of two bridges connecting Cebu and Mactan Island for a running event.

On the other hand, from only a hundred children, the organizers are targeting 300 streetchildren in Lapu-Lapu City to receive bundles of joy out of the proceeds of the event.

The Sangguniang Kabataan Federation also gets a portion of the registration fee.

The federation gets P50 from the entry fee of P250. The funds will be used for the different youth programs in Mactan.

Being a run-for-cause, no cash prizes will be given to the top performers expect for medals.

Entry forms are available at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall lobby, Runnr in Ayala Center-Cebu and Laser Art in SM City-Cebu. - THE FREEMAN
