Final round of RUGP Visayas leg revs off today

CEBU, Philippines - The final round of The Racing Line-organized Regional Underbone Grand Prix Series gets underway today at Kartzone.

Gary Caneda, Jr. and Keken Cabahug of Honda Motorworld Racing Team are the top two racers in Cebu vying for the 2011 Visayas Rider of the Year. Cañeda leads Cabahug by seven points in the championship standings.            The Visayas Grand Prix, the culminating race for 2011, also features a star-studded cast of riders from Manila. They are MTRT Racing's Dashi Watanabe, Cassey Ng and Paul Pangilinan and Team Suzuki Philippines’ John Emerson Inguito and Ivan Santiago.

“This is going to be a classic battle on the racetrack,” said race chairman and RUGP founder Jong Uy. “Manila teams who are joining this race will surely make things interesting and challenging for the Cebu racers.”

The one-day event is supported by Castrol Philippines, Castrol Power One, Pioneer Mighty Gasket, Honda Philippines Inc., MTRT Racing, Norkis, M150 Energy Drink, Super Max, and Kartzone. (FREEMAN)
