CEBU, Philippines - Loveleinell Casidsid made an impression after claiming two titles and a runner-up finish during the first leg of the Summit Triathlon Championship Series over the weekend at the Flushing Meadows Resort and Playground in Dauis, Panglao Island, Bohol.
Casidsid of Team Summit ruled the women’s open of the oceanman competition and triathlon team event. She also placed third in the female open triathlon.
In triathlon, Casidsid finished behind PBC’s Aimee Dequina but her performance was good enough to contribute to her team’s success in the team event. She's the lone female member of Team Summit composed of Jose Merdino Lim, Kristian Cabahug and Joseph Larida.
Summit now has 54 points followed by Tribo with 38 points and Nfyeat with 33 points. The organizers also declared individual winners in the triathlon event with the top Filipino finisher during the 2011 Kona Ironman Noy Jopson topping the male open over Makati’s Franklin Peñalosa.
Paul Jumamil won the men’s 19-under, Rosalito Albina in the men’s 20-29, Jose Medrino Lim in the men’s 30-39, Adolfo Miñoza in the men’s 40-49 and Simon Arizola in the men’s 50-above.
A day after the three-in-one action, Casidsid reigned supreme in the women’s oceanman after edging out Precious Ginn Lopena with the time of 28 minutes and 58 seconds. Lopena clocked in 29:38.
Jesse Arriola,Jr. dominated the men’s open with the time of 22:57.
The other winners in the oceanman tilt were Donald Jack Gibb (boys 12-under), Justin Chongbian (boys 13-14), John Paolo Lim (boys 15-19), Adones Onez (men’s 20-29), Frederick Chongbian (men’s 40-49), Dea Tsyna Saco (female 12-under) and Katherine Rose Arriola (female 20-29). (FREEMAN)
