ANS organizes first running event
CEBU, Philippines - The Abellana National School (ANS) formally launched its first ever running event dubbed as “Abellana National School Run to Reconnect and Reunite” set on November 13 at the ANS campus along Osmeña Boulevard.
ANS Alumni Federation president Daisy Toledo said the run will serve as their way to reunite school alumni and at the same time giving back something to the community.
“Aside from our goal to reconnect and reunite our alumni, we also organize this activity for the beautification project for the City of Cebu ,” said Toledo at a press conference yesterday at the ANS Alumni Office.
Proceeds of the event event will be given to the Cebu City government’s sidewalk beautification project, which has been going on for the past months.
ANS Alumni Federation founder and Cordova Mayor Adelino Sitoy said ANS' most famous graduate, former Chief Justice Hilario Davide, Sr., will grace the race featuring the 3K, 5K and 10K categories.
Cash prizes and medals await the top finishers in each category. Special awards will be given to the top alumni and student finishers.
Registration fee is pegged at P250 for regular runners and P75 for students. Entry forms are available at the ANS Alumni office and RUNNR at Active Zone of Ayala Center Cebu.
