Montenegro pulls twinkill in Mike Rama darts event

CEBU, Philippines - Steve Montenegro of Brgy. Capitol Site scored a double victory at the end of the 2nd Mayor Mike Rama Inter-Barangay Darts League at Yayoy’s Grill and Resto Bar.

Montenegro won the open singles after beating Arnel Guba of Calamba in the finals, 3-2.

Angelito Badayos of Tisa wound up third after edging out Allan Bejuna of Punta Princesa, while the joint fifth to eighth were Jomar Amerol, Reyden Colina, Paul Nacua and Boy Campugan.

Montenegro also led the charge in the classified–man team event.

Montenegro together with Clark Ramirez and Arnel Guba reigned supreme over Nonon Aguilar, Jun Navales and Wenie Abella via a 4-2 decision in their race-to-seven finals.

The team of Dick-Dick Ramirez, Romar Branzuela and Ivan Bernades ended third, while Reyden Colina, Jerome Perales and Alvin Mecani placed fourth followed by Alvin Villa, Jun Bacalso and Nilo Janson.

The trio of Noli Apurado, Boy Campugan and Dodong Abano were sixth, Dario Potot, Yummy Rensulat and Jojo Matinez came in seventh and Yoko Quillope, Paul Nacua and Ronan Alinday at eighth.

Neil Nacua, also of Capitol Site, won the open youth singles over San Nicolas’ Jun-Jun Daclan. Etoy Abaylon and John Daryl Dacalos occupied the next two spots.

On hand to award the prizes were Mayor Mike Rama and Councilor Raul “Yayoy” Alcoseba.
