Earlier, the University of the Visayas (UV) Baby Lancers hacked out a masterful 85-57 win over the smaller CIT-U Wildkittens.

The Cobras finished the first round at fifth place overall behind the UC Webmasters(6-0), UV Lancers (4-2), USC Warriors (4-2) and USPF Panthers (3-3).

The outcome was already settled as early in the second period and the crowd was only waiting for the final count.

A two-handed monster dunk by 6-foot-6 Cameroonian Justin Aboude electrified the sleepy basketball fanatics as the Cobras held a virtual clinic participated in by the Wildcats who were zeroed in all six outings.

Rene Pacquiao had 19 points for SWU, Eleazar Armecin added 18 and Joseph Nalos 14. Aboude and Monbert Arong chipped in a dozen markers apiece.

Chester Curso paced the Wildcats with 21 points, while Alan Dimco netted 12 in a losing effort.

Jeraldvin Delima led the Wildkittens with 14 points.

Meanwhile, starting today until September 8, all-high school games will be featured highlighted by the much-anticipated match between defending champion Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons and the Sacred Heart School-Ateno de Cebu (AdC) Magis Eagles. (FREEMAN)
