Gold rush in USA

CEBU, Philippines - The small delegation from Dancesport-Team Cebu City seals its quest with a total of 83 golds, 17 silvers and a bronze in only two international events in the United States.

DTCC’s first stop saw them win 33 golds and 12 silvers in the Empire State Dancesport Championships at the Crown Plaza Hotel in New York.

After showcasing their wares in New York, DTCC went to Las Vegas where they captured 50 gold medals, five silvers and a bronze in the Nevada Star Ball DanceSport Championship at Green Valley Ranch Resort.

The tireless Eleanor Hayco led the charge in Las Vegas as her partnership with DTCC’s head coach,

Crisaldo “Loloi” Rendon got two golds, four silvers and a bronze plus another nine golds with Anselmo Estillore under the Latin discipline.

The dancesport directress of DTCC, Hayco also bagged six golds in the modern standard discipline together with Samson Orlanes, one of the two first-timers in their trip to the U.S.

Estellore and Orlanes aside from their winning performances with Hayco also blended well together on the dance floor with other dance partners.

Estellore together with Mae Lozada eight golds while Orlanes together with the other new-comer Jessa Mae Briones contributed eight golds and a silver.

Another devoted dancesport official-athlete, Victoria “Ricca” Alix along with Renante Saldua got nine golds of the 10 events they competed in.

Christopher Corro and Hanna Jane Diluvio were not to be left behind as well as they earned eight golds.

Earlier in New York, under the Latin discipline, Hayco got seven golds and a silver with Estillore then a gold and four silvers with Rendon.

Hayco also got two golds and three silvers with Orlanes in the modern standard.

Saldua and Alix got all golds in the six events they joined in while Estillore and Lozada handed five golds and a silver, Orlanes and Briones with five golds and a silver and Corro and Diluvio with six golds and two silvers.

Aside from competing, DTCC also had a show were they get to display more of their wares with head coach Crisaldo “Loloi” Rendon leading the charge.

DTCC’s goal is to promote dancesport here in Cebu further besides winning medals out of the competitions they joined in. (FREEMAN)
