Cebu's Villa triumphs in Maasin darts tourney
CEBU, Philippines - Alvin Villa of Cebu and partner Arvin Bascug clinched the doubles title of the 3rd Maasin Open Darts Tournament in Maasin, Leyte.
Villa and Bascug defeated another Cebuano player Rodmar Branzuela, who teamed up with NV Gaviola in the finals.
Melvin Pelona and Onat Felisi grabbed the third spot after beating Ralph Veloso and Jeftie Galdo. while the fifth to eighth spots were occupied by Epoie Facundo and Mel-Mel Enjambre, Dondon Galdo and Alfred Montesclaros and Roy Laude and Jerome Abellera and Andy Sanchez.
Another Cebu-based darter, Yoko Quillope, ended his quest with second place honors of the singles event. He lost to Jerome Abellera, 2-1, in the final battle.
Villa landed seventh overall in the singles competition, while Archie Bascug emerged as the top winner in class B. –
