Defending champ wins in SHAABAA
CEBU, Philippines - Defending champion Kia Motors/White Gold defeated A+Structures/Ecoblocks, 66-56, to post back-to-back victories in the 2011 Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA)-Cebu Landmasters Cup at SHS-AdC gym in Canduman, Mandaue City.
Last year’s Most Valuable Player Dave Lim carried his team anew with 24 points.
The absence of A+Structures/Ecoblocks trusted center Leigh Dixon allowed Kia/White Gold to take control of the game.
Kia/White Gold now has an improved standing of three wins and a loss while A+Structures/Ecoblocks has a 2-2 card.
On the other hand, Gaisano Capital and Kiki’s Catering/JAPFA joins RDAK/Edcon and Istorya.net at second spot with 4-1 marks after winning their respective matches.
Gaisano Capital escaped defeat against Mackent, 54-53 while Kiki’s Catering/JAPFA outsmarted Kunstof uPVC Windows and Doors, 58-56.
