Sito, Aguan lead winners

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu-based Philippine-Australian Boxing Club’s Victor Sito and Kidapawan’s Jing Aguan came up with memorable debuts in the 2011 Summit

Natural Drinking Water’s Amateur Fight Series at the Gaisano Country Mall car park.

Sito was totally dominating in the 26 kilograms division to score a 3-0 victory over another neophyte Marvin Lulu of Sultan Kudarat.

Aguan also scored the same victory at the expense of Bacolod City’s John Rey Melligen in the 60 kilograms class.

Two other new-comers failed to impress the judges. Mikee Durano (33 kgs) also of PABC bowed to Cabancalan’s Raul Yu via referee stops contest-outclassed in only 23 seconds of the first round.

Maramag, Bukidnon’s Rolando Lingaw-lingaw lost to Camotes Island’s Marde Muaña in the 57 kgs. class.

On the other hand, two of the three other Negrenses, who saw action beside Melligen, won their respective matches with 48 kgs. Juren Labordo defeating Consolacion’s Ritchie Montealto and 59 kgs. JP Atieda winning against PABC’s Ryan Cagatulla.

Jimboy Mayang (50 kgs), however, suffered the same fate as Melligen as Cabancalan’s Ferde San Roque was too much for him.

University of the Visayas had a bad day with two of their bets both losing their bouts, Bryan Remedio was overpowered by Cabancalan’s Polid Banal in the 27 kgs. division while Wendel Acharon lost to Mabolo’s Christian Bacolod in the 44 kgs. class.

Another Cabancalan bet, JK Malupay failed to duplicate San Roque and Banal’s winning performances as PABC’s Edu Rosal out punched him in the 42 kgs. division. – THE FREEMAN
