The Terminator destroys Hurricane

CEBU, Philippines - Mark "The Terminator" Araneta continued his mastery against Yaw-Yan ArDigma fighters as he destroyed Kyle "Hurricane" Co in the featured Mixed Martial Arts fight in the Yaw-Yan ArDigma Fighting Challenge (YFC) 5: Recompense the other night at the Cebu Coliseum.

After his sensational first round knockout against Mark Boyo last June, Araneta again showed his dominant strength as he outmuscled his opponent dropping Co in the 3:00 mark of the third round.

The first two rounds were competitive as both fighters displayed their stand-up and ground skills. It was almost a win for Co as he was able to catch Araneta with a rare naked choke, but the pride of Team Unified MMA of Mandaue was able to escape by slamming Co in the canvass.

Appeared to be gassed out, Co tried to engage in a toe-to-toe battle, but Araneta was able to land the harder shots pounding 25-year-old Co against the ropes and onto the floor for a technical knockout victory.

In the supporting MMA co-main event, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu specialist Johnlery "Ian" Caniga of Yaw-Yan ArDigma survived a vicious ground and pound onslaught by Theoderoc "Kid" Batuun of the Tagbilaran of Team Red Dragon as he successfuly executed an arm-bar submission to win in the two-minute mark of the second round.

Renan "Limbas" Noblefranca from Yaw-Yan ArDigma also needed 30 seconds in the third round to knock out Steve "D' Lightning" Sevilleno of Team Mindanao Unified MMA by a brutal spinning back fist in the main event of stand-up division.

Also former Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) fighter Engie "Destroyer" Piloto battered Arthur "Spartan King" Barba of the Mindanao Unified Martial Arts (MUMA) for a third round unanimous decision win.

Three other Yaw-Yan ArDigma stalwarts Ruel "Akiyama" Resauro, Keith "Ice" Acapulco and Geronimo "Daredevil" Etac also came out victorious against respective foes.

Resauro won a unanimous decision against Arnel Ylanan of Team Bullet Fighting System, Acapulco pummeled Jovanne Javier of Team Red Dragon in the second round, while Etac scored a second round stoppage against Dexter Mesiona of Team JR Grand MMA. - THE FREEMAN
