Singson scores double
CEBU, Philippines - Adonis Singson claimed two titles in one weekend after dominating the LiveRun, a run under the World Hepatitis Day at Chong Hua Hospital's Medical Arts Center yesterday.
After beating Riez Enriquez in the Heroes' Run last Saturday, Singson defeated the former anew, this time in the 12-kilometer distance.
The battle of the two ended with Singson finishing in 41 minutes and 52.73 while Enriquez clocked 42:29.49 as Alvirg Busa wound up third with 43:14.51 clocking.
Joeyry Lee won the women's open 12-km title over Christy Sevilleno-Tutor with 50:29.94. Tutor was 30 second behind and Kaye Malagar placed third with a time of 1:06.24.62.
There was another 1-2 finish for the Adrins in the 6-km run with Jhean won the top spot in 25:36.11 as against Cherry's 27:35.24 while the Ironman Philippines-bound Rochelle Tan came third with 31:05.78.
In the men's 6-km open, it was Jorry Ycong who reigned with 21:38.89 as against Gabriel Escuadra's 22:03.92 while Oliver Dabalos came third with 25:14.30.
The 3-km run got Andre Mejares on top over Joel Andrin while Teodolo Beboso was third as the distaff side's top three spots were occupied by Gerlie Rose Baylon, Michelle Anne Beboso and Stephanie Edrial in another Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts-handled event. - THE FREEMAN
