Convergys, Teletech score wins
CEBU, Philippines - Powerhouse squads Convergys Wolves and Teletech Titans Cebu scored dominating wins in the elimination round phase of the Powerade E-Leagues Basketball Tournament at the City Sports Club-Cebu court.
Convergys had to pass through some nerve-wracking moments before beating equally tough Lexmark Stallions, 68-62.
It was a close start with the score tied at 18-all at the end of the first quarter.
Convergys took the lead at the midway mark, 36-33.
The Wolves continued to dominate over the Stallions in the third canto with a 20-13 run. Lexmark tried to shorten Convergys’ lead but the latter never allowed it to happen as they made it all the way to the six-point win.
Ronald Mabanto powered Convergys with 21 points while Lexmark’s Franco Cipriano and Seigfred Ofonda had 30 points combined for a losing cause.
The Teletech Titans, on the other hand, stayed unbeaten after overpowering Kyocera Frontiers in dominating fashion, 64-45.
Sherwin Emmanuelle Resilla spearheaded the Titans’ triumph with 15 markers while Sherwin Anghay and Japeth Banua chipped in eight points apiece. (FREEMAN)
