Carter, Bartolo rule POGS Run

CEBU, Philippines - Madelyn Carter got back on top again after an on-and-off appearance in local competitions by dominating the women’s 15K of the POGS Run yesterday at the Ayala Center-Cebu.

Carter completed the race in one hour, eight minutes and 5.95 seconds. The little-known Sandra Soliano came in second with the time of 1:12:42.60, while Merlita Dunkin wound up third in 1:2:55.49.

Elmer Bartolo lorded it over in the men's side with the time of 52:59.85. Jess Gonzaga placed second in 53:47.02 followed by Riez Enriquez in 56:16.93.

Jhean and Cherry Andrin had a 1-2 finish in the women’s 8K, while Marichu Velez was third.

Jorry Ycong dominated the men’s side over Alvirg Busa and Michael Estrera.

Rizza Toledo topped the women's 3K over Geraldine Batucan and Goebel Ygay, while Ryan Arsin, Donald Vincent Navares and Mark Besanas occupied the top three spots in the men's bracket. — THE FREEMAN
