Cebuano dance athletes compete in Manila today

CEBU, Philippines - The members of Dancesport-Team Cebu City will showcase their wares anew in Manila today for this year’s DanceSport Council of the Philippines Incorporated’s National Mid-Ranking and Competition at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

A total of 30 bets are under DTCC’s line-up, all of them hoping to contribute a medal each.

Cebu’s top female dancesport athlete, Charlea Lagaras, and her fiancé Steve Vergara, along with Miljane Camacho and Bernie Tumarong are expected to boost DTCC’s bid for glory.

In the first of the three-part yearly national event this year, DTCC went home with 19 golds, 10 silvers and seven bronzes.

 With different adjudicators in each competition, the Cebuano dancesporters are out to give their best shot each time.

Most of the DTCC bets have to divide their time for own training and at the same time train other youngsters under the grassroots programs of the Cebu City Sports Commission. Still, their fighting spirits remain with fervent hopes of bringing home the bacon. (FREEMAN)
