Durabend, Boysen, Unitec score in UABC

CEBU, Philippines - Durabend, Boysen Paints and Unitec hammered their respective foes at the start of the United Architects Basketball Club (UABC) Corporate Cup Season 5 at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) gym.

Philip Khan "Lik-Lik" Lim charted 18 points, seven assists and six rebounds as Durabend of team owner and Pinoy Biggest Loser participant Alan G. Choachuy pummeled Davies Paints, 64-43.

In the other games, Boysen Paints lost a 13-point lead but recovered in time to crush Megabond, 65-59, while Unitec capped the triple-header with an 84-63 demolition of Multi-Line.

First day jitters seemed to have stuck Durabend and Davies Paints as they combined for only six points in the first quarter. Durabend though was in complete command after closing the first half with a 29-22 edge.

Durabend then clobbered Davies Paints in the entire final half to come up with a 21-point rout. (FREEMAN)
