Dionisio tops 1911 Centennial shootfest

CEBU, Philippines - Former world speed shooting champion Jethro Dionisio bagged the top honors in the 1911 Centennial Celebration Shootfest held at the Cebu Pistol and Rifle Association range in Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City last weekend.

Dionisio won the title for the aggregate category of the standard event. Second place went to Nilo Lizares while Cebuano junior shooter Kevin Cortes finished third.

Marlon Valencia and Eduardo Yao rounded up the top five. Finishing sixth to tenth were Arestil Famor, Michael Francis Arada, Tyrone Ongpauco, Mark Antonio, and Jack Gregorio.

Christian Panganiban topped the open class followed by Mary Grace Tan and Keo Dale Tuan.

Christopher Panganiban won the title for the modified category followed by Benjamin Collado and Roy Rondilla on second and third respectively.

Wilfredo Anglo ruled the production category while second place went to Daryl Flores and Anthony Sy was third.

Cebuanos Chris Panes and lawyer Ismael Trinidad finished first and second in the revolver category while third place went to Mike Torrevillas.

The event was organized by the CPRA headed by Albert ‘Bing’ Lim.

A special guest for the event was George Wedge, vice president of Para-Ordnance USA.

Wedge gave a special prize during the shootfest to eight-year-old Lido de Guzman of the Travelers of Nueva Ecija Shooting Association (TONESA) team based in Camp Tinio, Cabanatuan City.

De Guzman was recognized for being the youngest shooter.

SPECIAL AWARDS

The title for the ladies’ standard division went to Jeanette Gonzaga with Jenny Alvarez taking second place.

Grace Tamayo won the production class crown for the distaff side with Mejorah Pangilinan finishing as runner-up.

For the super seniors class, Hilario Borro topped the standard category with Jun Liao taking the runner-up honors.

Marlon Valencia was the champion for the seniors’ standard category with Cebuano Roger Uy finishing second.

The production title for the seniors’ class went to Wilfredo Anglo with Danny Torrevilas taking the runner-up plum.

In the juniors’ class, Kevin Cortes won the standard category with Arian Chua as runner-up.

The open class title went to Keo Dayle Tuan followed by Cebuano Saldie Tan Unj Kheng and Jay Anthony Yulo.

Cebuano Ariel Belarmino ruled the production class with Howell Sia as runner-up.

For the PNP category, Jack Gregorio was champion of the standard class followed by Renato Dugan on second and Reynante Bastian at third.

Anthony Sy won the production class with Grace Tamayo taking second and Keith Andaya was third.

Christopher Panes won the revolver category with Eric Ayag as runner-up.

For the international category, Lo Ka Kin topped the standard class.

Tse Lai Man topped the production category while Cheung Pak Wan won the open class.

The seniors’ title went to Chan Chi Kwong and David Chu won the super seniors division.

For the range officers’ class, Lyndon Solatorio, Yogie Javier, Junivan Villanueva, and Jun Liao took the top four places of the standard class.

The production class title went to Oliver Glodove with Rolando Tocle and Neal Rosaroso finishing second and third respectively.

The single stack title went to Renato Dugan. Rounding up the top five were lawyer Miro Tupas, Miro Mediodia, Bam Salazar, and Henry Chu. (FREEMAN)
