CEBU, Philippines - Ian Bernido and Joeyry Lee led the cast of winners in the Cebu’s 1st Animo La Salle Run at the Cebu International Convention Center grounds.
Meanwhile, Philip Duenas and Joy Tabal scored back-to-back victories this month after topping their respetive divisions in the Alphonsian Run in Lapu-Lapu City also yesterday.
Lee, who hails from Toledo City where the Andres Soriano Memorial Colleges is located, bagged the women’s 12K crown in 51 minutes and 23.43 seconds. SMC is part of the La Salle system, which is now on its 100 years in the country.
Madelyn Carter came in second with the time of 51:59.09, while the next three spots were occupied by Marichu Luterte, Raneesa Colita and Leonora Martus.
In the men’s side, Bernido snared the top spot inh 41 minutes and 24.35 seconds. Elmer Bartolo wound up second in 42:07.07 followed by Riez Enriquez in 42:20.90.
Joel Delposo outpaced Jorry Ycong to win the men's 6K title in 20:10.34. Ycong clocked in 20:11.67, while Reprinel Banzon landed third in 20:13.46.
Aiza Suaybagiuio ruled the women's bracket in 25:03.78 followed by Lynle Cardenas (26:44.35) and Gerly Rose Barlon (27:10.78).
In the 3K action, the top three winners in the boys division were Jerry Laruya, Kenneth Arnaiz and Popoy Navarro, while Prosy Sosas, Angela Avancena and Wren Marie Salazar were the fastest runners in the girls side.
Over in Lapu-Lapu City, Duenas was the top finisher in the men's side with the time of 51:52.28, while Arnold Unabia finished second in 51:57.35 and Adonis Singson third in 52:41.29.
Tabal posted the time of one hour, one minute and 18.26 seconds, way ahead of Christy Sevilleno-Tutor who completed the race in 1:06:36.86.Jhen Andrin settled for third in 1:10:02.16.
In the 6K, Jobert Carolino dominated the men's class with the time of 18:29.23, while Jojielyn Pepito won the distaff side in 22:38.3. (FREEMAN)
