Pacman thrills Oponganons Boxing icon holds concert at Hoopsdome

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU, Philippines - Overwhelmed by the warm welcome and love the Oponganons shown to him boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao pledged to give a house and lot among other stuff to some lucky residents of Lapu-Lapu City in the near future.

Although it was also promoting his show over GMA 7, Pacquiao is bent on fulfilling what he promised.

More than 10 thousand people came to see Pacquiao during the launching of the 192 million-peso Hoopsdome in Lapu-Lapu City, much more than the 6,230 seating capacity of the said facility according to Lapu-Lapu City Police Director Anthony Obenza.

Obenza even said that there were many people who got mad at them because they wanted to go in but were not allowed anymore.

As soon as Pacquiao entered into what is Cebu's most modern indoor sporting facility, a standing ovation was given to the Pambansang Kamao at the same time wild cheers, flaglets and banners from different barangays expressing love for him were waved.

This is not the first time that Pacquiao visited Lapu-Lapu City.

In 2008 he played the role of Datu Lapu-Lapu during the Kadaugan sa Mactan.

Pacquiao told the people of Lapu-Lapu, "Gusto nyo, dalhin ko ang show ko dito para dito ako mamimigay?

Sige, bigyan ko kayo ng house and lot at iba pa. Pag-uusapan namin ito ni Mayor.

(Paz) at ni Congressman (Arturo Radaza) yan," Pacquiao said.

The boxing champion did not also ask for any talent fee from the concert organizers.

Pacman's wife, Jinkee and Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson were also present.

More than just being an honored guest, the eight division World champion also treated the Oponganons to a free mini concert. — THE FREEMAN
