JT Gullas sparkles in 3rd leg of Kartzone series

CEBU, Philippines - John Tristan “JT” Gullas gamely bucked down obstacles to win not just the premiere expert title but the third leg’s overall championship of the 2011 Kartzone Karting Series at Kartzone in Mabolo.

Starting at second position in the final heat seemingly gave Gullas no advantage as he had to deal with an equally-talented cast including Jette Calderon, Joseph Rojo, Sean Velasco and Peterson Lim.

Rojo, who got the pole position, failed to sustain his momentum with Gullas finding his rhythm on the track.

Lim bounced back by winning the KT masters championship anew, this time over Stefan Reroma and Wally Lim.

Liam Sacal prevented leg 2 champion Vince Adrian Rojo from posting a back-to-back victories in the mini-ROK category after outsmarting the latter in the final heat covering 15 laps.

Wilson Ong grabbed part of the limelight by bagging the KT novice category crown over Regan King.— (FREEMAN)
