33 kids finish Cacoy Doce Pares training

CEBU, Philippines - Doce Pares Supreme Grandmaster Ciriaco "Noy Cacoy" Cañete announced the other day that a total of 33 kids completed a one-month eskrima training at the Cacoy Doce Pares World Eskrima Federation headquarters along C. Padilla Street, this city.

The 90-year-old eskrima legend added that these young stick-fighters were also taught judo and -karate as well as barehand techniques of disarming a dagger or a knife.

Before receiving their certificates from Noy Cacoy, there were a lot of sparring sessions and demonstrations where the kids showed some tricks they learned from the training.

Noy Cacoy was assisted in the distribution of certificates by Master John Mac.

Meanwhile, GM Cañete will launch his new book this November entitled "Eskrima y Daga (Stick and Dagger) featuring 250 pages excluding more than one thousand photographs. (GGM)(FREEMAN)
