Musings on the Playoffs
This year’s NBA Playoffs has been very interesting with many surprises being pulled.
First, the top-ranked San Antonio Spurs were bowled over by the Memphis Grizzlies in six games. Then, defending champion Los Angeles Lakers were swept by the Dallas Mavericks in the semifinals of the Western Conference.
Dallas is now waiting for the winner of the Oklahoma City Thunder-Memphis Grizzlies match up for their Western Conference finals opponent.
On the East, the Chicago Bulls, also the top-ranked team of the division, is up, 3-2, over the Atlanta Hawks. So many things can still happen in this series, but I believe the Bulls will make it to the Eastern finals.
The other semifinal battle has been conceded by many to the Miami Heat, which now leads the Boston Celtics, 3-1. One more win and the Heat are one more step closer to the NBA Finals.
This early, many are already predicting a Miami-Dallas NBA finale. But, we cannot yet discount the possibility of a Memphis-Hawks NBA Finals. I’m just joking, but there is a possibility that this will happen.
I have stopped seriously following the NBA Playoffs as a fan after my favorite team, the aging Spurs, bowed to the Grizzlies. I saw that coming after Memphis took game 1 of their best-of-seven series.
I am not rooting for any team now, but I’d like to see the Chicago Bulls make it to the Finals again.

There has been a lot of interest in The View Invitational 2011 that long before the May 15 deadline most slots have been filled up.
Those who have the habit of waiting for the last minute might not be able to find tee time that they like or worse, a slot in the event.
The View Invitational 2011 is set on June 2 to 5 and this is a 36-hole contest using the Modified Stableford Scoring System.
The lowest handicap for the last three months prior to the tournament will be used and only 3/4s of such will be applied to the player’s score. The maximum gross handicap for guests will be 28 strokes or a net handicap of 21.
