CG Brokerage shocks CCUPA five
CEBU, Philippines - The underdog Canillas-Gonzales (CG) Brokerage scored a stunning 57-52 upset over the highly-favored Cebu Customs united Personeros Association (CCUPA), even as the Marty Pimentel (MP) Brokers easily dismantled Alin Customs Brokerage, 77-56, in the 1st CCUPA-CCBI basketball tournament at the Benedicto College gym along in AS Fortuna Street in Mandaue City.
Marvin Sillar had 12 points and Alex Pangan added 10 as CG Brokers tallied their third victory in five games.
Takloy Moral had 19 points for CCUPA, but he did not have enough support from his fellow Limasawanhon Francis Palero, who was limited to just nine points.
Despite the loss, CCUPA is still on top of the leaderboard with 4-1 win-loss record in a tie with the Pimentel Brokers.
Pimentel waxed hot in the second period and enjoyed its largest lead at 20 points.
Rizzan Herbito paced Pimentel Brokers with 14 points, while Nikkie Pimentel and Rex Bensi connived for 22 markers. (FREEMAN)
