Freeman Cebu Sports

Pain doctor

FULL POINT - Nimrod NL Quiñones -

If you are into sports, even if you are not seriously com-peting and just doing it as a hobby, it is normal to suffer from aches and pains.

For people who spend many years of their lives playing sports even way past their heydays, the aches and pains seem to be part of our daily lives.

The other day, I got a call from Dr. Peter Mancao, inviting me to their home so he could introduce me to his cousin, who was visiting from Manila.

Aside from Peter, his dad, Dr. Miguel “Mike’ Mancao was also there when I went to their place and met Dr. Christian Emmanuel V. Mancao, who did not waste time and introduced me to his way of easing pain.

After only a few minutes, I found out there were things I could not do for years that suddenly became possible. I wasn’t made to hold any bracelet or wear anything that is believed to possess powers, just manipu-lation of the muscles.

I was lucky to have been given the chance to meet him as his clinic, the Dr. Mancao Pain Management Center, is in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Dr. Christian Mancao used to be a trauma surgeon and spent many years in the Middle East. Now he is what a layman would call a muscle manipulator.

With so many people suffering all sorts of aches and pains, Dr. Christian Mancao is somebody that would give people hope. Unfor-tunately, I forgot to ask if he can help cure those with heartaches.

I guess muscle manipulation is not what will cure the pains of the heart. Not even Dr. Peter, a heart surgeon, can help you there as you need a love doctor for that.

I received a text message yesterday from Lt. Col. Jeffrey Gallenero about the 3rd Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Tanglaw Diwa Class of 1992 Golf Tournament.

The event is set on May 28 at the Camp Emilio Aguinaldo Golf Club. Tee of time is from 6 am to 12 noon and the System-36 handicapping format will be used.

For our on-line readers and those who might be in Metro Manila on that day, the tickets at sold at P2,500 each. This is a fund raising project of PMA class 1992, which will be one of the senior host classes in next year’s alumni homecoming in Baguio City.

The Barkada Run, which had four runners tied to each other, received a lot of positive feedback from partici-pants and observers alike during last Sunday’s Run UP High.

I’m sure this will become part of many future runs. I believe that one of the best ways to enjoy any sporting activity is to do it with friends and family.

Don’t be too lazy and get into sports, but don’t forget to do it the right way and use the right equipment. If you do it properly from the start, it will spare you from many aches and pains in the future.
