UC to pay tribute to late coach Agas

CEBU, Philippines -  The University of Cebu (UC) will sponsor a requiem mass for the late coach Mariano "Dodong" Agas, Sr. this Saturday that will be attended by the players.

Agas, the mentor of the famous PBA tar Dondon Hontiveros, died last April 22. His body lies at the St. Peter Funeral Homes along Imus Road, this city.

Agas is one of the most winningest high school coaches in Cebu. He was remembered most when he steered the then CCC Baby Executives to back-to-back National Inter-Secondary championships after beating the Benjie Paras-led San Beda Red Cubs in Baguio City and the Far Eastern University (FEU) Baby Tamaraws in Manila.

He also had several juniors titles in the CAAA (now the CESAFI). 

Interment will be on May 1 at the Queen City Garden after the 1 pm requiem mass at the Sto. Rosario Parish Church along P. del Rosario Street. (FREEMAN)
