The Junemar Fajardo-led Gaisano Capital tries to move within a first round sweep tonight against former champion San Marino Corned Tuna bannered by the SWU Cobras crew and could fulfill a six-game sweep on Saturday against the highly-energized Prime Asia Pawnshop, whose 75-71 victory in overtime against the Rose Aquarius Merchandising gave them an even 2-2 record.

Gaisano Capital struggled through the entire first half without tasting a lead except for the 2-0 start and was down by at least 10 points, 4-14, before the end of the opening period.

Again, Lion Tiger took a 0-point lead, 23-13 at the 6:14 mark of the second quarter but those number were gone quickly when Gerald Ampoon and Archie Batua converted two three-pointers each as they came within a striking distance at the intermission, 28-31.

Fajardo, who was fielded for the first time only in the third quarter along with bullstrong guard Quinton Brian Heruela, made their presence suddenly felt and led a destructive force that did not only wipe out Lion Tiger's led but also grab the lead for good.

Not so long in the court, Glenn Magallanes darted in three triples of his 13 points in the third period as Gaisano Capital started to control the tempo of the game and then Heruela added two more treys in the fourth to finish off the job.

Fajardo topscored for Gaisano Capital with 14 points, but the rest had ample contribution especially from the three-point arc with Hereula, Batua, Ampoon and Robinson Mohammad sinking in two triples each.

Earlier, the 2-2 Prime Asia, who outscored Rose Aquarius, 11-7 in overtime, was led by Giovanni Padillo with 22 points, while Fritz Dajalos had 19 points for the 0-3 Rose Aquarius.
