CEBU, Philippines - For the first time, the University of the Visayas fields in the most number of entries in the 2011 Summit Natural Drinking Water Amateur Boxing Series through the March’s final action at Pulang-bato Sports Complex today.
UV parades five boxers led by the ever-reliable Danlou Codilla, who is going to fight against fellow Visayanian, Robert Labanza in the 52 kilograms division.
The other UV bets are 57 kgs. Robert Etorma against Camotes’ Jan Ivor Lastrilla, 60 kgs. Christian Apawan versus Butuan’s Mark Bernaldez and 52 kgs. Rie Muñez opposite Wendel Acharon of Cabancalan.
The Philippine-Australian Boxing Club sends in four bets, while Flores Boxing Club and Cabancalan submit three entries apiece.
Seven other boxers are fighting alone for their respective areas including Banilad’s Jin Gabriel Besinga, Dominique Casañares of Bacayan Elementary School, Ritchie Montealto of Consolacion,Christian Bacolod of Florencio Urot NHS, Rolando Lingaw Lingaw of Maramag, Rhiyan Canillas of Toledo and Mark Andre Acub of Antique.— Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
