CEBU, Philippines - Over 600 airsoft buffs will converge today as the second season of the Governor Gwen Garcia Airsoft Open fires off at the north reclamation area in Mandaue City.
Defending champion Crack Legion are seeking back-to-back titles, but they are set to face tough challenge from 15 other contending squads.
Expected to give Crack Legion a run for their money include Borbon leg champion Sagupa and its runners-up ML Boa and Guadalupe Airsoft Team (GAT).
The other entries in the one-day tilt are Sandugo Airsoft Warriors from Bohol, SAAT of Talamban, Argao Team Airsoft, Badian Airsoft Team, ASB Commando, West Rasmussen Team from Badian, MI-43 Iskalawag from Minglanilla, Overknights from Lapu-Lapu City, Pacman of Mactan, Talamban Airsoft Team, Bohol Beach Boys and Mandirigma from Mandaue City.
Tournament chairman Deo Cerna of Airsoft Group said this season is the toughest, so far, as they had incorporated new scenarios that were not established last year.
“We have a lot of new scenarios incorporated to this season. We included some snipers, wall climbing and some rope works in this tournament. This is the toughest, so far,” said Cerna. (FREEMAN)
