1st MLKP-CBA season: Hotel Fortuna, SCSIT win
CEBU, Philippines - Hotel Fortuna chalked up its first win in two outings at the expense of the struggling Mandaue-Cebu Landmasters but, 82-80, in the 1st M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu Basketball Association (MLKP-CBA) season at the USC gym.
In the other match, the Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology (SCSIT) Skyblazers held off Talisay City, 78-76.
After losing the lead they controlled for most of the way, the Landmasters, whose largest lead stood at 10 points, 45-35, late in the second period, were poised to go for the win when they regained possession in the final 25 seconds but Hotel Fortuna's swarming defense foiled them from making an attempt until the final 13.3 seconds.
Marlon Basco topped Hotel Fortuna with 24 points followed by Diango with 14.
