Citigym to mark 5th anniversary with footrace

CEBU, Philippines - A unique route symbolizing its fifth year anniversary will be utilized in the Citigym’s City Run 2011 on March 27 at the Waterfront-Cebu City Hotel in Brgy. Lahug, this city.

An F-shaped route, symbolizing its fifth year of the gym’s existence, will be dealt with by the participants of the race.

The route actually is a “perfected” one from its Halloween Run last year.

The event features three race lengths:21 kilometers, 12K and 5K.

A total of P82,000 in cash prize is at stake for the top performers.

More to it, the champion in the half marathon will enjoy an overnight stay at Waterfront Hotel in Lahug plus a running shoes from sponsors.

A specially-designed singlet with reflector tapes and medals will also be given away.

Participants will get free food, ample water from Summit Natural Drinking Water and 100Plus, a free massage from Alay Lakad Foundation and other treats during race day.

Aside from being the highlight of Citigym’s fifth year anniversary, the event is also sort of a run-for-a-cause with JCI as its beneficiary.

JCI will be giving the funds raised to special children under PRIME Center.

Registration fee is pegged at P550 for the half marathon, P450 for the 12K and P350 for the 5K. Entry forms are available at Runner in Ayala Center Cebu, Toby’s at SM City and at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Deadline is set on March 25, while singlets and race kits will be distributed on March 25 and 26. (FREEMAN)
