CEBU, Philippines - Former lightweight champion Jimrex “Executioner” Jaca will continue his quest for another shot at the world title under a new promotional outfit against countryman Arnel Dunal in the main event of “The Night of Gladiators” presented by R.S Promotions tonight at the Tabunok Sports Complex, Talisay City.
Fresh from a successful comeback last year by winning his four fights via stoppage, Jaca will try to put back his name into the list of world title prospects.
Jaca was supposed to face Panamanian William Gonzales, but the latter withdrew due to unexpected problems in his country involving a car accident.
But R.S Promotions president Rafael Sancho promised that it will still be a great fight as Dunal shows to be a threat against the 27-year-old Jaca.
“This boy (Dunal) has a good physique and he is big and we will surely be expecting a great and exciting fight for the boxing crowd,” said Sancho during a press conference yesterday at the Wine Shop Bar in Gorordo Ave., this City.
In the equally-exciting supporting bout, former Spanish amateur champion Felix Soria will face Butuan-native Giovanni Rota of Bernard Yu Stable.
The rest of the card pits Julius Alcos vs. Tantan Ricablanca, Virgilio Silvano vs. Erwin Pulvera, Dodie Boy Penalosa, Jr. vs. Jun Morano, Sarry Canonigo vs. Roel Honor and Jelbert Bacalso vs. Junny Salogaol. (FREEMAN)
