CEBU, Philippines - The first night race for 2011 unfolds on April 9 with the inaugural staging of the ThreeSixty Pharmacy Run at Cebu Doctor’s University main campus at Mandaue City.
The event will feature a 3, 5 and 10-k run, the 3-k of which will be for fun runners.
A new player in Cebu, ThreeSixty Pharmacy is committed to helping promote a healthy lifestyle. So far there are now a total of 35 branches serving around Cebu.
To ensure that the event will be well organized, ThreeSixty Pharmacy is partnering with the Run For Sight Foundation to handle the technical aspect of the race. The said foundation is also the beneficiary of this run.
A night race have been chosen as their first of a four-part series since there are not many night races taking place which the Cebuano runners can join in.
“We hope to have the full support of the Cebuanos, this is a start for the series of events this year,” said ThreeSixty’s Carlos Yap.
Registration fee is pegged P250 for 3 and 5-kilometer run and P300 for P10-km action which include a singlet and refreshments plus gift packs.
Registration centers include Center for Sight at CDU Hospital, ThreeSixty Pharmacy beside Ala King, and Nike BTC.
A maximum of 1,500 runners are expected to see action. Registration starts today and ends as soon as they reach the maximum number of entries already.
The first 200 10-km finishers will receive a Suarez and Sons Incorporated medal plus a token from Enervon.
Other sponsors of the event will also be giving some products to be raffled off during the awarding ceremonies.
A fireworks display plus a tribal band for the entire route will spice up the event.
Dakay Construction, on the other hand, has committed to provide lighting for the entire route as well as fill up pot holes to ensure the runners’ safety.
“We assure that everyone that will be there will be enjoying the event. It may be a race at night but feels like day with the illumination,” said Al Pua also a representative from Three Sixty Pharmacy.
Aside from that, Enervon will also have on-site selling in which lucky buyers gets to have some items that can be utilized in running through a raffle.
After the night race will be ThreeSixty Kawasan Falls Marathon on July 24. (FREEMAN)
