Fastball to hold baseball, softball events

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano batted sports enthusiasts will have something to look forward to this summer with the staging of the 3rd Baseball Summer Camp and the Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament for Men and Women at the Aboitiz Sports field.

The 3rd Slow-Pitch Softball is slated on April 9, while the baseball camp is scheduled on April 4 to 27 from 4 to 6 pm during weekdays.

Fastball Sports Venture owner and general manager Jesse Bernad said this is the third year that he conducted the camp as his way of promoting baseball in the Queen City of the South.

“I want to promote baseball here in Cebu . I believe that the Cebuanos has the talent to perform and excel in this sport,” he said.

Bernad added that they are expecting more participants this year after the successful baseball clinic held by major league international players which drew over 300 participants recently.

“We hope that with the clinic, it already created awareness about baseball,” Bernad said.
