Rama Boys trounce Alberto's Pizza
CEBU, Philippines - Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama sparkled with a game-high 34 points spiked with eight 3-pointers as the Rama Boys-Akagi crushed Alberto's Pizza, 101-85, in their exhibition match at the Capitol Parish gym.
After a close first-half battle, the Rama Boys-Akagi turned to the hot hands of Mayor Rama to break the game wide open. They went on a scoring rampage in the third period to post a 72-61 advantage before closing the match with another fluid rally for the a 16-point romp.
Rama was backed up by Rene Toring with 14 points followed by Aniñon with 12.
Mark Villagonzalo topped Alberto's Pizza with 17 points followed by Iam Aparri with 16 markers.
Meanwhile, the University of San Carlos (USC)-Team A overcame a spirited resistance by the University of Southern Philippine Foundation (USPF) to hack out a hard-earned 59-54 victory and stay unbeaten after three starts.
