CEBU, Philippines - Mardy Moaña recorded the shortest victory in February’s initial offering of the 2011 Summit Natural Drinking Water Amateur Boxing Series the other night at the Talamban Sports Complex.

Moaña stopped Demeciano Millanes at 51 seconds of the second round due to head blow in their 54 kgs. duel.

In the other match, Richie Kilatan of Consolacion pulled off a 3-0 whitewash of Philippine-Australia Boxing Club's Edu Rosal under the 46 kgs. division.

Flores Boxing Club’s 29 kgs. bet Ariel Sibay and 40 kgs. entry Melmark Dignos met contrasting fates. Sibay silenced PABC’s Richard Rama, but Dignos was outsmarted by University of the Visayas’ Bryan Remedio, 2-1.

Remedio’s teammate Christian Apawan also came out victorious via a unanimous 3-0 verdict over Jan Ivor Lastrilla of Tacloban in the 57 kgs. category.

Like UV, Banilad’s two combatants were also successful in their respective campaigns, with 30 kgs. Ramil Casañares crushing PABC’s Raul Tarona, 3-0, and 35 kgs. Kit Garces outclassing Tarona’s brother Rhezon at 42 seconds in the third round.

In the remaining results, Talamban’s lone bet Kevin Jake Cataraja dumped Sta. Cruz’s Lester Dula in the 48 kgs. class, the Butuan-native Mark Bernaldez overpowered Toledo’s Rhiyan Canillas in the 60 kgs. division, while Rodel Wenceslao saved PABC’s day after clobbering Consolacion’s Eleno Traya.
