Abarquez logs third straight win in DRB Tennis Open

CEBU, Philippines - Tournament’s topseed Israel “RJ” Abarquez overpowered Junjun Tabura for his second straight win in the 1st DRB Men’s Tennis Open yesterday at the Alta Vista Golf and Country Club.

Abarquez slammed Tabura in their one-sided duel, 10-3, to move a step away from advancing into the semis.

Strong title contender Jude Tabotabo also sustained his momentum, hacking out a 10-7 victory over Christian Tiongco to stay undefeated in the week-long tilt.

Kennex Abadia outclassed Jayvee Canoy, 10-4, while Francis Largo kept his title hunt in motion with a 10-6 beating of Amiel Aya-ay, 10-6.

The champion will receive P10,000, while the first runner-up will take home P5,000. (FREEMAN)
