Lee, Delposo stamp classes in 1st Argao Mud Trail Run
CEBU, Philippines - Joery Lee outsmarted veteran trail runner Merlita Arias-Dunkin to claim the women’s 7K title of the 1st Argao Mud Trail Run at Argao Nature Park yesterday.
Lee wisely banked on his fresher legs to defeat Arias-Dunkin with the time of 34 minutes and 47.4 seconds, 3.35 seconds ahead of the former Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon campaigner.
Alyssa Lagahit came out third with a 37:32.45 clocking.
In the men’s division, Joel Delposo brought home the crown with the time of 26:08.17 followed by Adonis Singson in 25:15.43 and Meljohn Duterte in 27:47.42.
Jorry Ycong and Rosemarie Adlawan topped their respective classes in the 3K category.
Ycong posted the time of 10:46.61. Roland Batianzila wound up second in 10:49.50, while Cliff Debulosan was third in 10.50.45.
Adlawan, on the other hand, edged out May Jiamika Yenio for the top spot with the time 13:59.28 as against the latter’s 14:12.58. Mary Ann Canapi placed third with a 15:54:33 clocking.
Twinkle Ignacio bagged the best in costume award, while Ungo runner Axl Acibar and Ritchie Selma were adjudged as dirtiest couple. They won special prizes along with the father-and-daughter tandem of Ramie and Nina Ygana. — THE FREEMAN
