2 running events this weekend
CEBU, Philippines - Back-to-back running events will take place this weekend via the University of San Carlos (USC) Alumni Run today at the USC-Technological Center in Brgy. Talamban and the Argao Mud-Trail Run 2011 tomorrow at the Argao Nature Park in the southern municipality of Argao.
Organizers of both events are expecting over a thousand runners to join the race.
The USC Alumni Run, which features the 3K and 5K categories, is among the highlights of the sixth year anniversary of the USC Commerce department. It is open to USC students, alumni and the rest of the Cebuano fitness buffs.
The Argao tilt, on the other hand, will have a 3K and 7K division but a tougher battle looms ahead as the participants have to negotiate a rugged terrain at the Nature Park.
Spearheaded by the Archdiocesian Shrine of St. Michael the Archangel in partnership with the municipal government of Argao, the Mud-Trail Run is in conjunction with the 26th local Worth Youth Day celebration. (FREEMAN)
