Summit boxing's initial offering for 2011 tonight
CEBU, Philippines - Cebu’s upcoming pugilists will add up excitement to the Sinulog festivities as they showcase their wares in Summit Natural Drinking Water’s first amateur boxing battle for 2011 today at the Gaisano Country Mall carpark in Brgy. Banilad, this city.
A total of 12 bouts will be featured late afternoon from 30 to 62 kilograms division.
Majority of the fighters seeing action come from Consolacion and the Philippine-Australia Boxing Club with four bets each.
Flores Boxing Club will field in three entries. Cabancalan, Florencio Urot, and University of the Visayas will send two boxers each, while Banilad, Lahug, Toledo, Butuan, Talamban, and Camotes have one apiece.
In the 30 kgs. class, Banilad’s Ramel Casañares goes up against FBC’s Romel Tuñacao, while Jonriel Jecong takes on Reymond Rama of PABC in the 32 kgs. division.
Rhezon Tarona PABC clashes with FBC’s Melmark Dignos in the 36 kgs., Cabancalan’s Polid Banal battles Florencio Urot’s Ricardo Lopez in the 40 kgs. and Talamban’s Kevin Jake Cataraja faces off Mark Kevin Sereño in the 46 kgs. category.
In the lone 50 kgs. duel, Cabancalan’s Reoxyl Tabogon mixes it up woth Roldan Bereso of Consolacion, while UV’s Dann Lou Codilla tackles Consolacion’s Jovan Muños in the 51 kgs.
In the 57 kgs. match, Camotes’ Mardy Moaña and UV’s Christian Apawan slug it out with Lahug’s Dominiciano Millanes and PABC’s Jerome Baja, respectively. (FREEMAN)
