Tabal and Bartolo dominate Radaza Run

CEBU, Philippines - Mary Joy Tabal added feathers on her cap after winning the 1st Frankie Radaza Run in Lapu-Lapu City yesterday.

Tabal enjoyed the absence of Cebu’s road running queen again, Mary Grace de los Santos, along with other seasoned runners to claim another title.

Tabal topped the 12 kilometer race in 51 minutes and 15.96 seconds. Christy Sevilleno-Tutor finished second in 52:25.79, while Merlin Alin grabbed the third spot with a 59:26.40 clocking.

In the men’s 12K, Elmer Bartolo came out the fastest in 41:19.87, while Adonis Singson placed second in 41:42.96 followed by Leo Colonia with the time of 41:55.19.

In the 5K action, Enriquez and Jhean Andrin dominated their respective classes.

Enriquez won with a time of 16:45.86 followed by Robert Daang in 16:3.22.

After reigning supreme in the first Cebu Ultramarathon last week, Mendel Lopez went easy this time coming off third behind Enriquez with a 17:18.08 clocking.

In the distaff side, Andrin ruled in 21:34.11 as against Alyssa Lagahit’s 22:04.18. Gerly Rose Baylon wound up third with the time of 22:04.18.

Two other Andrins, Lovely and Cherry, posted a 1-2 finish in the girls 3K, while Marivic Beboso landed third.

The men's 3K saw Ando Mejares on top followed by Ronnie Andrin and Jaime Antipuesto. (FREEMAN)
