White, Green score first wins in LABA

CEBU, Philippines - The Joules-White squad rode on the explosive trio of Junjun Perolino, Edgar Yncierto and Cesar Lagaras to nail its first win in four starts at the expense of Bombers-Yellow, 105-99, in the Los Amigos Basketball Association (LABA) inter-color tournament at the Banilad Sports Complex.

In the nightcap, Zich-Green also notched its first victory by beating Magic-Blue, 100-92.

It was a sorry loss for Yellow as it led by at least 20 points in the first two quarters only to wilt under a renewed challenge by White starting in the third period.

Perolino topped White with 22 points, Yncierto added 19 markers and Lagaras added 17.

Gilbert Sebandal, Junjun Mauro and Cris Ubas each scored 17 points for Yellow, which fell to 2-2.

Richard Madrid, on the other hand, topscored for Green with 28 points, while Loloy Son paced Blue with 27 markers.  – THE FREEMAN
