CEBU, Philippines – Be fit at the same time save the environment and build a school.

All this can be done with the staging of Ayala Center Cebu's Eco Dash:The Bottle School Run on November 14 at the Terraces grounds.

Literally, a bottle school as the structure will be build with the use of recycled 1.5 and 2-little PET bottles as hollow blocks replacement.

This ground-breaking project here in the region is a way of fighting climate change through sustainable, eco-friendly, low cost and disaster-resistant structures as well as reducing the landfill waste, thanks to the technology that Illac Diaz's group has ac-quired abroad under My Shelter Foundaton.

So far, eight schools in Luzon have been built with the use of bottles and Diaz said during yesterday's press conference they hope to replicate this project in the Visayas and Mindanao area at the soonest possible time.

For ACC's upcoming event, its first beneficiary will be lawyer Antonio Oposa's Law of Nature Foundation, which has the School of the Sea and Earth Advocates (SEA) in Bantayan Island. The school in Bantayan itself is nature-friendly and eco-saving struc-ture.

"We move beyond the cause, let's do the actual, the real work.Let this be a start of a momentum,An event that will change old things," Diaz said.
