Lastrilla stops foe in just 10 seconds

CEBU, Philippines – Team Mandaue's John Ivor Lastrilla needed only 10 seconds to beat Philippine-Australia Boxing Club's Richard Casenillo in the latest edition of the Summit Natural Drinking Water Fight Night Amateur Series at the Gaisano Country Mall carpark the other night.

Two other Mandaue City pugilists, Rhiyan Canillas and Raymond Namucatcat, also won via stoppage.

Namucatcat outclassed Elecio Taruc at 1:45 of the third round in their 46 kgs. bat-tle, while Canillas needed only 25 seconds to dispatch teammate Robert Etorma in their 63 kgs. duel.

Six other Mandaue-hanons beat their teammates with 60 kgs. Mark Bernaldez and 54 kgs. Christian Apawan posting a 2-1 win while the rest had a 3-0 triumph.

Jaybon Hondos of Davao completed the winner's list after beating Bais City's Richard Barrios in the 46 kgs. division.  (FREEMAN)
