ANS-Pomeroy squads start hot in Aboitiz football

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU, Philippines - The Abellana National School-Pomeroy opened its championship bid with convincing wins in three divisions in the 13th Aboitiz Football Cup at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

ANS-Pomeroy kicked off its title defense in the under-17 category with a 2-0 mark over FCIC.

Coach Francis Ramirez’s wards, however, did not consume all the time allocated for the game as their opponents walked out of the game accordingly after being displeased with the referees' call.

Earlier, ANS-Pomeroy’s boys 14 and 12 squads also showed sterling performances.

In the boys 14, ANS-Pomeroy posted a 3-0 whitewash over Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu, while ANS’ under-12 mainstays earned a 3-1 triumph over Don Bosco Technology Center-B.

DBTC though bounced back in style as its Team A hacked out a clinical 5-0 victory over Blessed John Seminary in the boys 14 and DBTC 1 pulled off a 10-1 annihilation of sister team DBTC 2 in the boys 12.

In the other boys 14 match, SHS-AdC and Springdale figured in a 1-all draw, while Springdale trounced Bright Academy, 9-1, in the boys 12. (FREEMAN)
