CEBU, Philippines – The Simpolang Barbecue Haus and the Viking Haulers scored contrasting victories last Tuesday in the 2nd season of the F. Llamas Youth Association (FYA) at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym at barangay Punta Princesa, this city.
The Simpolang of skipper Noel Medalle demolished the defending champion Leo & Rolly, 110-85 while the Haulers grounded the Heartfelt Angels, 84-75.
Five players from Simpolang scored in double figures led by Medalle's 19 points.
Jade Ylanan top scored for Leo & Rolly with 22 points while Bornong Endrina added 17 markers.
In the other game, Medalle's younger brother Baeng, who was a former USJR Baby Jaguar, led Viking's offense with 17 points and Toper Limbaga chipped in with 16 points.
Tata Laborte scored 17 points to lead Heartfelt.
The FYA is headed by tournament director Boogie Atillo and the games every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday are always supported by Punta Princesa barangay councilor Ray Gabriel Salgado. (THE FREEMAN)
